THE ORGANIZATION

The Philippine One Health University Network (PhilOHUN) is an organized network of Philippine universities that aims to develop the next generation of skillful and competent members of the One Health (OH) workforce in the Philippine setting. Its mission focuses on contributing to the growth of the One Health Workforce through capacity building, research, and community engagement.


Since 2019, PhilOHUN has been a member of the Southeast Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN). In partnership with other country networks across Southeast Asia, PhilOHUN envisions a future with minimal threats from preventable diseases through the One Health approach. PhilOHUN now has 25 member universities across the Philippines and continues to expand its reach. Currently, PhilOHUN's projects and activities are supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) under the One Health Workforce Next Generation project, led by the University of California Davis and its consortium.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Under the overall supervision of the Country Coordintor and Senior Program Manager, the Program Officer will assist in the implementation and management of PhilOHUN projects. S/he will undertake the following tasks:

Provide technical support for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of PhilOHUN projects, including coordination with PhilOHUN member universities.


  • Coordinate with the Finance and Administrative team to ensure the efficient management of project funds.

  • Prepare project/activity narratives and contribute to the development of program reports, including semi-annual and annual reports.

  • Assist in coordinating with One Health stakeholders, as well as relevant sectors and institutions, to ensure effective program implementation and the promotion of PhilOHUN and its goals.

  • Serve as the focal point for PhilOHUN membership inquiries and the application process.

  • Maintain the directory of PhilOHUN members and partner organizations.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager, Senior Program Officer, and PhilOHUN Working Committees to develop and implement a membership recruitment strategy.

  • Perform other tasks as reasonably assigned, in line with the responsibilities of the position.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university. Graduate degree is an advantage.

  • A minimum of three years of progressive work experience in project management

  • Practical experience coordinating and providing technical support to government agencies, intergovernmental agencies, academic universities, or NGOs.

  • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with proven ability to liaise with multidisciplinary stakeholders

  • Experience with USAID-funded projects is highly desirable.

  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in recording data and providing reports

  • Self-starting, ability to take initiatives and to work with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both in written and orally.

  • Skills in Microsoft Office/Google, email, and Internet navigation are required.

  • Preferably with skills in using publication platforms (e.g. Canva)

  • Willingness to undertake travels within the Philippines.
